In addition to this Policy, the terms and conditions accessible on the Quote and Buy website also provide information on how such personal data is collected and used by BISL.
We may change this Policy from time to time by updating this page. You should check this page from time to time to ensure you are happy with any changes. This Policy is effective from 4 June 2008.

Your rights
On payment of the fee of £10 (made payable to Groupama Insurance Company Limtied) you are entitled to see details of the information we hold about you. If any of the information held is inaccurate we will also make any necessary amendments and confirm to you that these have been made. You are entitled to ask us to remove personal information from our records and if you wish to do this then please write to the Group Data Protection Officer, Groupama Insurance Company Limited, 28 Dingwall Road, Croydon, CR0 2NH.
You also have the right to request at any time that we and/or carefully selected companies cease processing your personal data for marketing purposes. What information do we collect?

For home insurance, when you provide information through the Quote and Buy website, BISL will pass us the following information about you: your name and contact information, including email address, postal address, date of birth, and any other information which you may supply to BISL from time to time. What do we do with the information we collect?
We use this information:
- for internal record keeping;
- to improve the content of the Site;
- to contact and notify you of any products or services which may be of interest to you;
- to help understand, develop and improve our products and services; or

What information does BISL collect?
BISL collects the following information:

What does BISL do with the information collected?
BISL uses this information to provide you with a better service:
- for the purpose of insurance administration, grant and renewal by the insurer, its agents, reinsurers and intermediaries;
- to verify information which you provide, to conduct any necessary investigations and to prevent fraudulent claims;
- to enable insurers to conduct the searches on the relevant registers such as the Claims and Underwriting Exchange Register and the Theft Register;
- to enable searches to be conducted on publicly available registers such as the Electoral Register, County Court Judgements and bankruptcy registers;
- to pass information about you to us (see “What do we do with the information we collect” above); and
- to enable credit reference agencies to conduct any relevant searches.
BISL may contact you by email, phone, fax or mail for the above purposes.
Direct marketing
We would like to provide you with information about products and services which we think you may find interesting from time to time. Such information may be sent to you by email, phone fax or mail, unless you have registered with the appropriate Preference Service. If you do not want your information to be used for direct marketing purposes, please tick the appropriate boxes on the Quote and Buy Website. If you request this option, no direct marketing material will be sent to you.
